Flat tyre!
so came home from studying just in time to see my dad drive past me. i grabbed the keys from him and was all, "shall we go for dinner?" (okay this was after sharing the 'dinner' with Audrey and Perry, eating left over noodles and nasi lemak with our hands!). dad grunted an okay and grudgingly went over to the passenger's side, so we drove to changi village and had proper nasi lemak. with fork and spoon.
drove home, and just as my dad popped into the shower thinking he can FINALLY go to sleep, my sister calls sounding distressed. "Nina, where's daddy? We got a flat tyre!"
oh joy.
made daddy come out of the shower and i speed drove to around Kallang area, where we found my sister and her friend Germaine struggling. apparently it wasn't that they didn't know how to change a tyre, but that they couldn't even pull the wrench out of the car!! it was stuck. whenever my sister runs into trouble, she immediately calls my dad, as she did this time even though Germaine was talking about getting a tow truck. "You think what, your dad will come and do one move and it will come out is it??" "Well, that's what he always does!"
and sure enough... he fiddles for 20 seconds and out it pops. sigh i swear... i can't even believe my sister is doing her masters she's so dense sometimes. don't worry che i still love you.
anyway, fixed up her tyre and off we went. my poor daddy.
"sigh... thought can come home early and sleep by 10. now it's almost midnight and i'm going to have to take another shower."

according to my sister, when she told my gong gong about this, he so wisely said that for the sake of your daughter, must standby and be boyish again. a daddy's job is never done.
