Happy 19th Skin

and it is Chen Mun's 19th birthday. Audrey and i surprised her with a brownie cake from Mrs. Fields, my favourite lady. had to go early, buy the cake, and bring it to Marina Square. and i realised that when i was walking around looking for Breeks, that Chen Mun herself was there, walking towards City Hall to meet me. so i called her, found out where she was and made her come back.

on the pretense of asking for the bill on my way back from the 'loo' (where i tried calling the restaurant but the line was busy), i asked one of the waiters if he could help with the cake i had hid there earlier.

they came out 5 minutes later. first the AC went off. i felt it, cause i was freezing, and suddenly the air was so still. great thinking guys. then the lights started going off, and we were like, "eh, black out ah?" then the whole service staff came out carrying the cake and holding a paper up to the candles so no stray wind would blow them out. they were walking so slowly, they finished the song halfway across the restaurant. conveniently, we were all the way at the end of the restaurant. so that was an awkward funny moment.

we went to City Space, at Swissotel, the bar on the 70th floor (you know, Equinox?) we went to the loo first and it was pweety.
the singer at the bar sang Chen Mun a happy birthday song.

"So happy birthday to you girl... haha look at you so cute... how old are you, 14?!"

*Audrey and Devina beside themselves with laughter*

Happy Birthday Shortay.

*oh and yeah! guess who got a hair cut on the day of her last paper? it's been exactly a month and it's grown.

2 more months...

and it's bye bye home...

cry with me.

my darling number 54... and my black and white gate which has been there forever.

the mango tree in the back garden...

my darling lovely front garden. sigh the new home hardly has any greenery. and only a front area! no back area.

the road i remember. my sidewalk. and the place i've gotten used to parking the car in.

the swingset we got recently, where the swing actually faced the house because otherwise the entrance would be on the otherside of the swing. it also allowed us to hook up a fence thingy to keep Beamy in the back and away from Granny and ma. no more yelling of, "Go to your corner!" back then he could hear and obeyed. also, the swing's can't be used since the wooden seat broke. you've seen photos of my brother.

no more big room for my darling Beamy... *whine whine* ah la la sayang...

Folding... Folding...

holidays are upon me again, a month of which has gone by, severly and thoroughly enjoyed.

now i'm generally up till 4am every day, and of late, eating all the cadbury chocolates in the world (seriously Cheeks, stop buying them!), and watching House (thanks, baby) on DVD.

of the episodes i've already seen? i've taken to the renewed attempt at finishing the pack of coloured paper, carefully folding them into beautiful cranes, via the art of Japanese origami. you guys are geniuses.

and in one night, i realised i've sidetracked and missed episodes to fold the cranes instead, and decided to stop after the fingers are tender.

for one night, it's a lot. seriously. honestly. you try it. it's so intricate! why i had to buy the small paper...

and in case you were wondering...

what Adrian looked like?

well first of all, the joy of dating a Yankee (yeah yeah okay born in HK, raised in Virginia, but still a Yankee!) is that he's so not gadget friendly, which allows you to snap photos of him without him realising that that function was a camera, and not a mirror.
and allows me to inform you that the answer is....

a chinese Shrek.

Gabriel Iglesias, "Eiya Martha, Martha, look at that chubby boy - he looks like Shrek ah? All he needs are the antennas and the donkey, that's it!"

Happy Birthday Cadbury Girl

so what was supposed to be a birthday dinner for Adrian becomes a date and birthday celebration for me, even though his birthday is a month later than mine.

and Adrian has a present for me even though i had nothing for him.

the box is purple. it has Tinker Bell on it. it's filled with cadbury chocolate.

what can i say? it's a guy after my very heart.

daddy's old sunnies

the sunglasses my brother gave me fell apart, so my dad brought it to this shop to fix it, but not in time for my brother's POP, which was hella early in the morning. so my dad told me he had some sunnies i could use.

one of which was really really old. and i was adamant in not wearing it.

"why, what's wrong with it? cool, what."

and he liked it so much, he subconsciously kept it on whilst watching the tv.

life's never boring in this household.

BEWARE - laser

i went to my dad's clinic to get my chicken pox vaccine, and there was this new big sticker outside my dad's door. it said radiation, or laser or something scary like that. when i asked him about it, he pointed to the end of his office, "there," and it was the machine used to zap and remove hairs or tattoos or something.

i turned back and laughed myself stupid.

Mind your...

i just thought this was hilarious. i've seen mind your step. but this just sounds... just a tad rude. hahaha. it's funny. i just find it... so cute.

and it's at mcdonald's.
