My best friend
It's no secret I only have 2 groups of really close friends, Audrey & Chen Mun etc., the group from Secondary School, and then Farhan & Mei Yen.
This is a post dedicated to Farhan.
I'm sure you've seen the earlier post about his damn Beemer. I've gotten over it. Now I would just like to support his self humiliation.
FIRST OF ALL, WAS THIS.
Yes, he's CHUN LI.
Then most recently, WAS THIS.
He's Blossom.
I worry.

Beamy... my baby boy...
Well, my friends, my dear Beamy has passed on.
He had some kind of disease that screwed up his balance, made him nauseous etc., and he couldn't walk. We found him in the morning lying in his urine because he couldn't get to the garden. My poor dear.
Vet said it's a disease that targets old dogs, and should go away after 1-3 days. After the third day, we made a decision and put him down.
For all your weird sleeping positions my dear...
and sleeping so still, i can put a jasmine behind your ear. :)

Snickers
This ad is gone now of course, but I stared at it for a good month I think, whenever I went to work, or going back after lunch.

I never really fancied snickers, but my God, that's some fabulous advertising. I wanted it so badly everytime I saw that ad.
Thankfully, I'm stronger than that, and never succumbed!
To everything else of course, but not to the snickers! I refuse to bow down to propoganda!
Singapore Exchange
My boss does a lot of bonds stuff with the Singapore Exchange, so once in a while if we're rushing to make a submission and we don't wanna wait for our despatch, Salleh, I end up taking a walk.
The escalator up to the mail room... is looooong...

This is me already 1/3 the way down (yes I was going down, because I was too stunned on my way up to think quickly and take out my camera. Not that you would be able to tell a difference. I could turn around and take a shot.), after fumbling with my phone, taking it out and turning on the camera and stuff. Very very very fun.
Present from Ms. Chia
Ms. Chia went to... okay, somewhere in Malaysia, and came back with this for me. Thank you Ms. Chia!

It's pretty, but I realise how the office people think I'm a sweet gentle girl who likes sweet delicate things.
It's quite funny.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, I was marking off the dates till my referral exam for Criminal Law.
Letter of Confirmation
I am confirmed staff!
Finished my 3 months of probation, and got called into Gwen's (office manager) office. I thought I screwed up something for accounts again, but she handed me the envelope, which contained my letter of confirmation.

I bounced back to Ms. Chia and started waving it in front of her face.
"Guess what!"
"Oh, right. Your letter of termination."
"Wow, you're funny."
WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!
Was driving by one day (or specifically, 11 November 07) and decided to drop by my home and see how it was.
Was with Adrian, and the only thing he noticed was the amount of crap, and the barricades.
But I saw something, "What the hell is that?! Oh my God, it's a face!"
"You mean the rubbish?"
"Dude, NO. Look!"
It's a DOG.

Told everyone, and my sister and brother went back to take a look some days later. She told me they got down and went to take a closer look. Apparently there was shit everywhere. And the poor dog's face was half covered with flies. We didn't know what to do about it - whether to call the police and SPCA or something. Sigh, my beautiful home.
MOVED
Oops! I don't think I've posted about my move.
Finally left 54 Jalan Pergam, for 45 Riverina Crescent.

The house was so empty, every movement I made had an echo. I only came back and saw it at night cause I was at the new house, and could only come back at night when we came to get Beamy. And dinner.

The only thing we left behind was the curtains, and my wardrobe. Sigh...
Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve and my Uncle Subhas's birthday.
First, was rushing stuff at work, cause we were all leaving at 12plus to go to Manhattan Fish Market for lunch. My boss was rushing to send out Christmas e-cards, but when the girl who was helping us out (Ms. Chia's friend's daughter) finally got a computer going (i.e., MY computer, because everything else went haywire so I graciously gave mine up), it's WAS 12plus. I ended up taking the whole list home and doing it from home, rushing it out before my family was supposed to leave at 6plus for my Uncle Subhas's place. Of course, the damn site was a bitch. Took me hours to finish it. But my family waited patiently - thank you!
Was fun at my Uncle Subhas's place. My Aunty Vimi is a GREAT cook. Oh man... There was turkey, and ham, and roast chicken, and pasta, and all kinds of vegetables. The food was FANTASTIC. Thankfully, from that night, she promised to hand over some of her receipes and teach me how to cook, since poor me will be going to Australia and will cry for Singapore's food. She has - will be trying my hand this weekend I suppose. Anybody brave to test? Doctor will be at the table. :)
Anyhoo, to round off the night - brother spilt root beer on my Aunty Vimi's rug. My youngest cousin Sujesh got a hell beating from my dad about his earrings - apparently we're all waiting for him to come out of the closet (APPARENTLY, according to my father). Dad himself was wasted, which was why he was being so mean. Uncle Subhas was going on and on about how he almost DIDN'T make it to 60, which creeped me out. Mum got drunk too, and was asleep on the massage chair when it struck midnight, and we were all popping noisemakers and blowing those loud trumpt blasted things and shouting Merry Christmas! and Happy Birthday! And she was in a corner snoring.

My brother was falling asleep. My sister WAS asleep. My parents were drunk. It was up to poor me to drive everyone home, including a friend of Uncle Subhas'. Dropped him off at his place, which was like a CASTLE. Turns out the guy is like smokin rich. It was like a condo, only, IT WAS A HOUSE. He had like his own basement carpark. "Can fit 20 cars." "20 cars?!" "Oh no, we only have around 10." "Oh, only. That's okay then."
Was falling asleep at the wheel, which was NOT cool. So was blinking rapidly to stay awake. Otherwise it was slow blinking, which I would then definitely fall asleep, or if I kept my eyes open, I would fall asleep... with my eyes open.
Made it home with everyone safe and secure, save for a moment on the expressway where I got terrified for a moment because the lorry in front of me was weaving like crazy. Driver was falling asleep too. Thankfully, he was only going at 50. Unfortunately, he was on the left lane, so with all his weaves, it kept appearing like he was making an exit, just to weave back halfway onto middle lane, then weave back onto the road shoulder.
Christmas Tree
Okay, gonna try and do a bit of updating!
We received a Christmas Tree!
Gorgeous thing... The whole house was strong with the smell of pine, so much that my eyes were watering. The fantastic thing was - we didn't even pay for it! Someone gave it to my dad.

In relation to the fan, the doorway, and... well... the tv, I guess you can tell how BIG it is.
The day we got it, I obviously ran out (well, more like slouched over to Raffles City after gruelling capoeira class) and bought more than $200 worth of decorations, and decorated the tree on that night itself. Dad's orders - family was coming over the next day for my Granny's pooja.

Decorated by myself, although a certain Chinese boy with an American slang might tell you he helped. But onlookers (ahem, EVERYONE ELSE) will tell you the truth - sometimes, you're more a hindrance than a help!

Day 1
Yes, yes, I know it has been forever since I updated. Again, my computer is full of photos I've wanted to uploaded but never found the time.
But now I'm on holiday! Few have been told, but here I am in Hong Kong! My sister is here on work, so hey! Free accommodation.
Flight was at 6.20am, so I woke up at 4am. Dad insisted on sending me, no matter how many times I said I'll take a taxi. Insisted on coming in with me. Sigh... so cute. My sister couldn't stop shaking her head. My dad still looks at me like a baby. It's sweet.... when it's sweet. Other time it's just - stop nagging!
Hehe, poor fella was falling asleep at the wheel, though.
Boo boo 1: My sister told me the weather was okay - not so cold. And if my sister says it's not so cold, it should be perfect weather for me. So I packed one small jacket that's more trendy than warming, and like 3 long sleeved shirts, 2 jeans, couple of socks, that's it. As we were touching down... I distinctly heard the captain say, "11 degrees celsius." Now that wouldn't be so bad if not for -
Boo boo 2: I did not have my jacket on me. I had my suit case (which was practically empty), a duffel bag, and my laptop bag with only my laptop in it. My dad told me to merge into one bag, then pack in one bag. So i dug through my duffel bag, took out my phone, wallet etc. then packed in my duffel bag into my suitcase, with my jacket inside. I thought if it's cold, I can just dig it out after I pick up my suitcase. Now that wouldn't be so bad if not for -
Boo boo 3: I'm flying by Jetstar. Hell I saved $200, but they didn't go to the airport. We were dropped like far far from the terminal, and had to get on a bus that took us to the terminal. Those were like freezing 30 seconds before I got on the bus. But we reached the terminal, so it's okay. It was freezing cold, my lips were blue, but I have a jacket. In my suitcase. I just had to collect it. Now that wouldn't be so bad if not for -
Boo boo 4: I had locked my duffel bag in my suitcase. Guess where the keys were? Yep, in the damn duffel bag!! Now that wouldn't be so bad if not for -
Boo boo 5: I was an hour away from the hotel. Took the shuttle bus, which thank God was warm inside. But the damn bus driver dropped me in the corner of the street, and I had no idea it was my stop, so I don't know why he was so peeved I didn't know it was my stop. I thought he was dropping me in front of the hotel! Turned out he was supposed to - my sister saw where I was dropped off and kept saying the bus driver was mean.
So took my key from front desk, dropped off my stuff, and thank God the staff had like this big plier wrench thingy and broke my lock. So I bundled up, took my money, and went in search for lunch! I wanted authentic Hong Kong food (which is why I avoided the Burger King at the airport), like char siew wan ton mee.
Everything looked weird though - couldn't tell what everything was by the pictures. And all the places were full, and people inside were staring at me, so I was afraid to go inside.
It became that my first lunch was -
Boo boo 6: Krispy Kreme donut.
Sigh.
Spent a fair bit.
Boo boo 7: Met my sister who took me to a local place, so finally had my wan ton mee. Then, I dunno why, we decided to go and have dessert. GOOD dessert, but COLD dessert none the less. And my God... why did we do it, when it was such a chilly night?!
Anyway, going out now to take the MTR and travel far and do more shopping. On my own for afternoons while sister's at work, then we'll grab dinner and quickly come back to the hotel for hot water. Haha.
Is fun. Will put up more photos!
